UIW ACCESS Logo

UIW ACCESS is a textbook program that provides undergraduate and graduate students e-books or printed textbooks for academic courses. Students earning bachelor's, master's or doctoral degrees from UIW schools on the Broadway campus will have access to course materials each semester.

How Does UIW ACCESS Work?

The UIW ACCESS program will deliver the most up-to-date e-books or printed textbooks to students.

Nearly 75% of students agree that having access to their own textbook helps them earn a better grade in a class.

With UIW ACCESS, students will have course materials available the week prior to the first day of class (or within 48 hours of registration for digital materials if within the add/drop period). 威斯康星大学教师在每堂课上使用课程材料,如教科书. Qualifying Academic Programs

All students earning bachelor's, master's or doctoral degrees from UIW schools on the Broadway campus will participate in the UIW ACCESS program with the exception of Nursing courses.

How to Access Your Books

Frequently Asked Questions

Most courses use e-books for courseware. You can find your e-books in Canvas, a UIW learning management system, by logging into Cardinal Apps. In Canvas, click on your course and then select the BryteWave link named “BryteWave Course Materials” to access your e-books.

Digital textbooks will be available in Canvas the week prior to the first day of class (or within 48 hours of registration for digital materials if within the add/drop period). You will receive an email notification from BryteWave (donotreply@redshelf.com) through your UIW email account with instructions on how to access the material. 或者观看上面的视频以获得一步一步的指导.

BryteWave is a digital textbook platform. You can highlight text, bookmark, search, sort and take notes using BryteWave.

If you do not receive an email in your UIW email account from BryteWave, but believe you have digital textbooks, go to the BryteWave web site. 使用您的uw电子邮件地址和BryteWave密码登录. If you do not know your password, select "Forgot Password" and enter your UIW email address. 登录信息将发送到您的uw电子邮件.

Most courses use e-books or courseware, so your e-books will be included in your Canvas course under the tab titled BryteWave Learning Materials. Physical learning materials (textbooks and course documents) will be available for pick-up at the UIW Broadway campus at the Student Engagement Center (SEC) room 2050 as follows:

  • January 8 - 13, 2024: Noon - 6 p.m. (SEC 2050)
  • January 14, 2024: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. (SEC 2050)
  • January 16 - 20, 2024: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. (SEC 2050)
  • January 22 - 26, 2024: Noon - 6 p.m. (SEC 2050)

Students will receive an email notification to their Cardinal email from the Follett Bookstore when materials are ready for pick-up (customerservice@efollett.com),详细说明所分配的物理课程材料和订购编号. Students are asked to bring this email containing their order number with them to present to the Follett campus bookstore staff who have prepared and pre-packaged their orders for rapid fulfillment.

Distribution Schedule

Physical materials will be distributed at UIW Student Engagement Center (SEC) room 2050 located at 4301 Broadway, San Antonio, TX 78209 (view map). Students are strongly encouraged to pick up their materials prior to the start of classes or as soon as convenient once classes begin.

Beginning with the Fall 2022 term, undergraduate and graduate students at the Broadway campus will no longer receive book disbursement funds. Students will continue to receive all remaining financial aid funds as a refund based on standard institutional processes.

The UIW Bookstore will provide required textbooks for courses until the drop/add deadline. The bookstore will automatically create a new order as you add your classes.

If you earn an incomplete, the instructor will work with the bookstore and publisher to ensure access. The UIW Bookstore will ensure students have access for up to 90 days after the end of the term to complete needed work.

All active duty service members in the School of Professional Studies also receive free e-books/textbooks for bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.
